How to Use This Calculator
Enter the price and quantity for two products and see which has the lower price per unit instantly. Use the Extended tabs to compare three products or evaluate bulk vs regular sizes with waste. The Professional tab adds coupon discounts, price per 100 units, and annual savings projection.
Formula
Unit Price = Total Price ÷ Quantity
Effective Bulk Unit Price = Bulk Price ÷ (Bulk Qty × (1 − Waste%))
Annual Savings = Unit Price Difference × Comparable Qty × Annual Frequency
Example
$3.99 / 16 oz = $0.249/oz vs $6.49 / 32 oz = $0.203/oz → Product B saves $0.046/oz → $2.38/year if bought weekly
Frequently Asked Questions

- In the Professional tab, enter the coupon/discount amount to subtract from the price before calculating unit cost.
- Price per 100 is a standardized comparison metric used in European supermarkets. It makes it easy to compare products with very different package sizes.
- Annual savings = (difference in unit price × comparable quantity) × number of purchase occasions per year. This shows the real-world impact of choosing the better deal every time.
